Beautiful ornate wood mirror that has been painted gold then gilded in gold leaf, glazed in a black wax then re-gilded with more gold leaf.
Over 100 sheets used in total!
 
After all the painting & gilding I added several transfers to the mirror part. Song birds rest on vines and dogwood blossoms that encircle the mirror and french script with a small bouquet of roses and peonies centered to all.
